That time of life

Girls have it hard.... 

That mid life crisis hits worse for us...

No it's not because of finances.. 

It's because of this institution people call "Marriage."

By the time she's out of her teens,

 the only thing her parents can think of is 

" we have to get her married."

A guy gets privileges.

Privileges to work without being taunted about being single at "his age."

Us girls don't get those privileges.. 

even in this "Modern" world of ours.

It's still "study hard and get a job or we'll marry you off."

It's not "tell us when you're ready and what you want.. we'll discuss it then"

No matter how free you are, there is always this 

sword of marriage looming at your neck and 

by the time you're in your 20s it threatens to fall.

Turns out, the ones who were supposed to protect you 

from everything are the ones holding the sword to your neck.

So don't tell me girls are independent now and can do what they want.

Don't tell me girls don't have to fight for their rights.

Don't tell me we're equals when it is crystal clear we're not!!
